Tennessee's best and brightest theatrical stars will take to the stage of the Boiler Room Theatre -to celebrate The Tony Awards during First Night: The Tony Concert, presented by Keeping Scores Concerts on Monday, June 6 - and to perform an evening of songs from Broadway musicals that have won the Tony Award for best musical.

Hosted by Jeffrey Ellis, founder and executive producer of First Night, The Nashville Theatre Honors, the concert is under the direction of Keeping Scores' Scott Logsdon, who helmed the recent Funny Girl concert at BRT. Among performers scheduled to take part in the evening are: Nicole Begue Hackman, Jama Bowen, Ryan Bowie, Jaclyn Brown, Annette de la Torre, Carolyn German, Nathaniel Hackman, Michael Holder, Bakari King, Scott Logsdon, Katherine Sandoval Taylor, Will Sevier, Ann Street, Ben Van Diepen, Joshua Waldrep, Darci Wantiez, Weslie Webster and Martha Wilkinson.

"Other performers will be added to the line-up prior to showtime and the list of performers is subject to change without notice, what with the frenetic schedules of working actors," Ellis explains

Tickets to the event are $15 per person, payable by cash or check at the door. Seating is limited. Wine, soft drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served to guests at intermission. Proceeds will benefit The First Night Fund.

First Night: The Tony Concert will kick off the 2011 First Night Season in Nashville, which will feature 10 days of events from August 26 through September 4, culminating with the September 4 First Night Gala at Belmont University's Troutt Theatre featuring the six members of the 2011 Class of First Night Honorees. Curtain time for First Night: The Tony Concert is 7:30 p.m.

Among other events in the works for First Night 2011 - which will spotlight the women of theatre - include the fashion extravaganza; The First Night Symposium on Monday, August 29 (at Belmont's Black Box Theatre); The Women in Theatre Luncheon on Tuesday, August 30; a staged reading of Clare Boothe Luce's The Women (at Belmont's Black Box Theatre) on Wednesday, August 31, starring Mary McCallum, Martha Wilkinson, Jessika Malone, Joann Coleman, Laura Thomas Sonn and Sondra Morton; and the Honorees' Dinner on Saturday, September 3.
