Nashville Ballet single tickets for the 25th Anniversary Season will be available Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The Ballet will offer some of the most requested productions for a full year of ballet favorites. All evening performances have been moved to 7:30 p.m., with the exception of Nashville's Nutcracker, which will be performed at 7:00 p.m. A special family performance, Peter and the Wolf, created specifically for a younger ballet audience, will be presented Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. Artistic Director/CEO Paul Vasterling states, "As we mark this milestone year, I have selected a collection of audience favorites, with something for everyone. In the last decade, the company as a whole has evolved in their strength, the pureness of line, and a distinct look that has captured national attention. I invite the community to come celebrate the success of Middle Tennessee's only professional company."
Nashville Ballet began when a small group of dance students from the Dancer's Studio formed in 1981 to create the Young Dancers Concert Group. Two and a half years later, the group flourished into a regional company known as Nashville City Ballet and the professional company was officially inaugurated in 1986 as Nashville Ballet. Numerous 25th Anniversary Season events have been planned for the upcoming season. An Opening Night Dinner will be held for donors and a champagne toast for audience members will be enjoyed at all Swan Lake performances. There will be a post-show reception at TPAC, December 12th, for all dancers who performed in the role of either Clara or Fritz. The Ballet will recognize the "Twenty-Five Faces of Nashville Ballet" throughout the season at each performance series. Past dancers and school alumni will also be honored at the final performance of Carmina Burana in the spring.

Carmina Burana, April 29-May1, 2011 Jackson Hall at TPAC
The "Bravos" were overwhelming when Vasterling's 2009 production of Carmina Burana debuted, and the Ballet will present an encore performance for the finale of our 25th season. This ballet is larger than life with Nashville Ballet, Nashville Symphony, the Nashville Symphony Chorus, The Nashville Children's Choir, and guest vocalists, directed by Nashville Ballet Music Director Paul Gambill, all joining forces to present the family-friendly Carmina Burana! The dancers are front and center with the chorus raised high above the stage and the symphony spills over the sides of the stage for an avalanche of pure sound and motion. Composer Carl Orff set these irreverent poems to music in 1936 and this score continues to be heard in countless television commercials and film scores around the globe. The lyrics and movement portray life's pleasures, love, spring, and the uncertainty of the fates. Based on Latin verses written by German monks, this music remains one of the most popular classic pieces today. Salvatore Aiello's sensual The Afternoon of a Faun, set to the music of Claude Debussy, will open this performance. Be sure to spin the "Wheel of Fortune" for ballet prizes and keepsakes after each performance.
