Mayor Barry to Speak at Nashville Rep's Broadway Brunch

Nashville Repertory Theatre announces that the Honorable Mayor Megan Barry will serve as the Honorary Co-Chair of Nashville Rep's inaugural Broadway Brunch. The fundraiser will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016, 11:00 am.- 1:30 pm at City Winery. More than 250 guests will sip mimosas and mingle with fellow theatre lovers, then enjoy a delicious brunch while they take in a spectacular revue of Broadway hits performed by Nashville's top musical theatre talent. Fabulous live and silent auctions will offer one-of-a kind experiences to the lucky top bidders.

Mayor Barry will address guests about the importance of the performing arts and Nashville Repertory Theatre to the Middle Tennessee community. Nashville Rep will also honor founding Board Member Martha R. Ingram for her outstanding contributions and longtime commitment to the performing arts in Nashville.

Co-Chairs for the 2016 Broadway Brunch are Rob Turner and Jay Jones.

The Broadway Brunch stage show, directed by Nashville Rep's Producing Artistic Director, René D. Copeland and Music Director Jason Tucker will showcase Nashville's top musical theatre performers singing some of the best of Broadway.

"Nashville is filled with exceptional theatre talent and we are thrilled to feature our top-notch Nashville actors and singers at this special event." Ms. Copeland shared. "We'll give Brunch guests a taste of Nashville Rep's sensational production of Chicago and other Broadway hits to bring the crowd to its feet!"

Nashville Rep's critically acclaimed Chicago has been wowing audiences and critics at the Johnson Theater at TPAC. Chicago runs through April 16, 2016.

The Broadway Brunch will take place on Sunday May 1, 2016 at City Winery, 609 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN 37203. For tickets and more information, visit nashvillerep.org

Funds raised at the Broadway Brunch will support the productions, public staged readings, Ingram New Works Project and Festival, and Nashville Rep's educational and enrichment programs for students and the community. Tickets to the Broadway Brunch are limited and may be purchased at broadwaybrunch.org.
