Nashville Ballet will celebrate the art of world-renowned painter Matt Lamb at a reception Sunday, Jan. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet Frist Gallery, where Lamb's paintings are currently displayed for the public to enjoy.
"Exposing our dancers and students to new forms of artistic expression, like Lamb's paintings, influences their creativity when performing in and creating their own art form," Nashville Ballet Director of Artistic Operations Sharyn Mahoney said. "This event will allow us to celebrate his art that has inspired not only our artists, but also the local community."Sheila Lamb Gabler, Lamb's daughter and CEO of his company Matt Lamb LLC, will attend the event to discuss his art with attendees. The reception is free and open to the public.Lamb is an internationally recognized artist whose works are displayed in the State Russian Museum, the Lamb-Miro Museum in Chicago, Westminster Cathedral in London, the Vatican Museums of Modern Art and Centre-Picasso in Horta, Spain.Videos
