Mary McCallum directs her latest play - Chasing Jeremy - for a February 16-24 run at Nashville's Darkhorse Theater.
"After a run-in at a convenience store, Jeremy is haunted by the revenge-seeking black male teen victim. Tensions escalate as both families struggle to deal with the tragic event. As media pressure continues to mount, the community is confronted with issues of race, class and police handling of the case. One moment forever changes two lives, and the men must face their altered futures and the impact of their actions," the director and playwright writes.
McCallum's cast includes Gage Sharp, Michael McKissack, Jr., Howard Snyder, Kathleen Jaffe, Shanté King and Emily Wright.
Performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with a 4 p.m. Sunday matinee on February 18. Details may be found at www.sistastyleproductions.com.
Darkhorse Theater is located at 4610 Charlotte Avenue in Nashville.
