Legally Blonde star-turned country singer Laura Bell Bundy was nominated for 2 CMT Awards this morning for her breakout single, "Giddy on Up." CMT turns the fate of the 2010 CMT Music Awards over to the fans as it announces finalists and opens up voting for country music's only fan-voted awards show. Beginning April 5, CMT.com fans can vote for their favorite videos to determine the final nominees for CMT's ninth annual awards show. The 2010 CMT Music Awards show premieres live from Nashville on June 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

The first round of voting runs from April 5 through May 3, only at CMT.com, where fans will select from the top eight nominees in each of the nine categories.

Videos that debuted on CMT between Feb. 24, 2009, and March 1, 2010, are eligible for the 2010 CMT Music Awards, and finalists have been determined by a blue-ribbon panel that includes noted country music journalists, as well as music industry and CMT executives.

The first round of nominees for the 2010 CMT Music Awards has been announced in all nine categories, and voting is underway. The final four nominees in eight categories will be announced May 11. Laura Bell Bundy's major label debut album Achin' And Shakin' is slated for release April 13 on Mercury Nashville. The infectious lead single "Giddy On Up" has been described as "a breath of fresh air" and "nothing short of a new female anthem" amongst industry critics since the premiere of the music video on January 18.

"Giddy On Up" has received almost 1 million streams in a month and has sold over 30,000 digital singles.

Other top stations such as San Antonio's KAJA, Houston's KKBQ, San Jose's KRTY, Minneapolis's KEEY, Chicago's WUSN, Portland's KWJJ and KUPL, Denver's KYGO and both Phoenix station's KNIX and KMLE are in full support of the single some spinning it over 30 times a week.

Laura Bell Bundy has been performing lead and feature roles in New York and in Regional Theater since the age of nine. She is most familiar to Broadway audiences for originating the roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Amber Von Tussle in the Tony Award winning musical, Hairspray, as well as a stint as Glinda in the smash hit, Wicked. In addition to her work in the theater, Ms. Bundy has also appeared as Marah Lewis in "Guiding Light" from 1999-2001 as well as guest appearances on "Cold Case," "Veronica Mars," and Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy."
