Stage and television actor Lane Davies will star as Professor Henry Higgins in Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady, the season opening production of Smyrna's Lamplighters Theatre. Set for a Setpember 18-27 run at Smyrna Assembly, 14119 Old Nashville Highway, My Fair Lady is the initial offering in Lamplighters' "A Season To Fall In Love."
Other productions included in the 2009-2010 season include: It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, December 4-13; Father of the Bride, February 12-21; Anne of Green Gables, March 19-28; and The Rainmaker May 7-16.
Joining Davies in My Fair Lady are: Christina Spitters as Eliza Doolittle; Ronnie Meek as Alfred P. Doolitte; Sam Dalton as Col. Pickering; Nathan Owen as Freddie Eynsford-Hill; Tammy Sutherland as Mrs. Higgins; Mark Thomas as Zoltan Karpathy; Kristen Linton as Mrs. Pearce; Cassie Ponomarey as Mrs. Eynsford-Hill; and Mimi Frederick as Mrs. Hopkins.
Since 2004, Lamplighters has presented classic plays and musicals at their Smyrna location. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings; with 4:30 p.m. matinees on Sunday afternoons. Single tickets are $10, with seniors 55 and older and students paying $8. Children ages 4-12 will pay $5 per show. Season subscriptions are available for $35; $32 for seniors and students; and $25 for children.
