Kevin J. Thornton releases a 7 song EP,"January Dream," engineered and mastered by Marc Chevalier at Ravensound in Nashville, TN. The EP is available on Itunes, through Amazon.com, at shows on Thornton's 2011 U.S. tour and at the website kevinjthornton.com.

Thornton wrote all 7 tracks after he left West Hollywood, Calif. and holed up in Bloomington, Ind. for the winter. "This was the first time in my life where I really fulfilled the stereotypical heartbroken songwriter with a bottle of booze thing. I feel these songs deeply" says Thornton. He then headed to Nashville where he co-wrote Up To No Good with Kacey Musgraves from Nashville Star fame who currently has a song in the Top 100 Country charts with Josh Abbott. Nashville is also the home to Marc Chevalier who was nominated for a Grammy for his work on the latest Margaret Cho CD "Cho Dependent."

Some remember Thornton as the lead singer of the noir-pop band Waves On Waves which released their first self-titled effort in 2009 on the VTP Group/55BC label followed by a B-sides and a Remix album released over the last two years. Previous to the Waves On Waves project was the album "Had A Sword" recorded under the moniker Thornton. This album won the coveTed Nashville Scene Award for Best Experimental Rock. Joey Hood's 2004 review said the album had "ziploc-tight emotional gravitas well beyond their collective years."

When the band went through some growing pains Thornton himself wrote, produced, starred in and toured the one-man show "Sex, Dreams & Self Control" releasing a soundtrack and book of the same name in 2010. Now, in 2011, Thornton again sets out to tour the country with a brand new one-person odyssey "I Love You (We're F*#ked)" which includes songs from "January Dream," stand-up comedy and Thornton's signature style of storytelling that's been compared to David Sedaris and Sandra Bernhard.

Thornton wrote and performs all the tracks on his 1954 Gibson ES-125. Thornton says "I had a special bond with my grandfather. Our fishing trips are among my favorite childhood memories. After he passed on, we found a near mint condition Gibson ES-125 in his closet with the original receipt from 1954 stuck underneath the strings. On the receipt was written 'Promises to pay $5 a week' As the guitar player in my family it was unanimous that I should be the one to keep it. That guitar is like a gift from the past!"
