Country and pop music icon Kenny Rogers has added a second date to his scheduled appearance with the Nashville Symphony in early 2010. Rogers quickly sold out his February 5, 2010, engagement at Schermerhorn Symphony Center and - due to the high demand for tickets - he will now perform an additional concert there on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at 7 p.m.

"We were expecting a great deal of excitement about our Kenny Rogers concert, but the response we've received has been beyond our expectations," said Jim Mancuso, Vice President of Artistic Administration at the Nashville Symphony. "With such an overwhelmingly positive response to the first concert, we're very pleased to be able to offer a second concert with Kenny."

Recently recognized at the ACM Honors Ceremony at the Schermerhorn in September, Rogers has amassed one of the most impressive recording careers across all genres, selling more than 105 million records worldwide and becoming the 8th best-selling male recording artist of all time. With such beloved hits as "Lady," "We've Got Tonight" and "Islands in the Stream," his #1 smash duet with Dolly Parton, Rogers has enjoyed unparalleled success in both country and pop. He has also become known and respected as an actor on TV and in movies, including his starring role in the TV miniseries based on his hit song, "The Gambler."

Tickets for Kenny Rogers' second concert date ($37.50-$107.50) go on sale to the general public beginning today, November 23, at 10 a.m., and may be purchased via the Symphony's website, NashvilleSymphony.org, or by calling the Symphony Center Box Office at 615.687.6400.
