John Chaffin's original comic mystery, Writer's Block, is onstage at Nashville's historic Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre through October 15, in a production directed by the playwright himself.

According to a press release, the premise for Writer's Block is actually rather simple: "All fiction writers reaches a point in their careers where for one reason or another they just come up blank - they can't finish the book! In Hal Kensie's case, after a long string of successful mystery novels, he is in the middle of his latest book and can't seem to find a plot that completes it. His wife is nagging him, his publisher is on his back, his agent is screaming, and to top it all off, it seems someone may be trying to kill him! For the life of him, he cannot come up with a plot to finish off his villains and save his heroine. In desperation, he finally comes up with a plan to save his novel and get help in a very unusual way and from a very unexpected source."

The show is directed Chaffin's Barn owner/producer, John Chaffin. The play is also penned by Chaffin who has written several other originals produced at Chaffin's including: Winner Lose All, Ghost Story and Picture Perfect. He has also adapted the wildly popular series: An Evening with Sherlock Holmes - classic stories adapted for stage.

The cast for Writer's Block includes: Warren Gore (last seen in The Rainmaker) Jenny Light (last seen in Annie and The Foreigner), Phil Perry, Trey Palmer and Jennifer Richmond (last seen in Annie, I'll Be Seeing You and Squabbles).
