International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS) - an industry leader in scholarship management based in Nashville - today announced the launch of the Notes for the Future Scholarship Program, an initiative to support promising young instrumentalists and vocalists.
This new program is open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in the United States who plan to study music in college and can submit a recording/video audition of a live, solo performance.
Awardees will receive a scholarship of up to $1,000 and all applicants will have the opportunity to opt-in to a music college recruiting database, allowing their audition to be shared with department of music representatives from post-secondary institutions nationwide.
ISTS President and CEO Becky Sharpe was inspired to start the Notes for the Future Scholarship Program by Music Makes Us, a unique partnership focused on music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.
"Like Music Makes Us, I believe in the power and necessity of quality music education," said Sharpe. "I've seen firsthand the positive impact that music can have on a young person's life, especially those facing any type of adversity, and want to encourage aspiring musicians to pursue their passion."
Additional information about the program, including a link to apply, can be found at http://programs.applyISTS.com/NFTFscholarship. Online applications will be accepted until April 28, 2017.
