The individuals and productions that made 2010 such a memorable year in Nashville theater will be recognized Sunday night, January 9, with the presentation of the BroadwayWorld.com Nashville Theatre Awards and the unveiling of First Night's Top 10 of 2010. Street Theatre Company, located at 1933 Elm Hill Pike in Nashville, will provide the setting for the event, which is hosted by Jeffrey Ellis, the executive producer of the First Night Nashville Theatre Honors, who covers Nashville theater for the world's largest theater website.

First Night Red Carpet hosts Jennifer Richmond and Trey Palmer will be on hand to greet guests as they arrive for the cocktail party (slated for 6 to 10 p.m.), along with fashion commentators Cary Street and Macon Kimbrough. Cabaret performances, featuring Ann Street-Kavanaugh, JoAnn Coleman and Ben Van Diepen - accompanied by First Night music director Jane Kelley-Watt - will be featured throughout the evening's festivities.

People and shows included in First Night's Top 10 of 2010 are selected by Ellis and includes top ten lists for the best actors, actresses, ensembles, directors, plays and musicals that were produced in the Nashville area during 2010. In addition, some other "Nashville-centric" lists will be unveiled during the party.

In addition, balloting continues through Saturday, January 8, for the winners of the BroadwayWorld.com Nashville Theatre Awards, with awards to be announced in 25 competitive categories.

Plans will also be unveiled for 2011's First Night, the Nashville Theatre Honors, which will be held in September and will honor six individuals who have distinguished themselves as leaders in the Tennessee theater community.

Tickets for Sunday night's event, which are available at the door, are $10 (payable by cash or check only) and will include an appetizer buffet (catered by Felecia Carson and Company) and open bar. For further details, call (615) 530-6178.
