The Boiler Room Theatre (BRT), Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company opens its second show of their 14th season with the frothy, fun, and energetic LEGALLY BLONDE the MUSICAL playing today, September 30th through October 4th at the beautiful, historic Franklin Theatre. Having won over audiences across the nation, Elle, Bruiser and friends will make their BRT debut for a limited engagement! Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!

Based on the hit movie, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL is a fresh and effervescent evening of musical fun, stylishly wrapped up in a smart pink bow! Elle Woods is the college sweetheart and homecoming queen who doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone 'serious', Elle puts down the credit cards, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style. This high-energy pop musical's fun and catchy score features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a hysterical book by Heather Hach.

Director Sondra Morton says, "I know that Williamson County audiences are going to be overjoyed by Legally Blonde. This hysterical and sweet musical has all the charm of the original movie, and then injects it with non-stop, thrilling musical numbers. Billy Ditty's choreography is high energy and brings life to these great songs. This is a fun show which will have the audiences on their feet!"

The Boiler Room Theatre has been on hiatus since January. Unfortunately, the renovation process was stalled in the beginning due to some management and personnel changes in the Factory at Franklin. Morton says, "We are thrilled with the Factory's new dedication in making all of these things come true for us. We can't wait to get back into the space."

The Boiler Room Theatre believes that the "Show Must Go On" and have worked hard in this time off to find ways to continue to produce excellent theatre in Williamson County. Our June production of Bonnie and Clyde was very successful for audiences and critics alike. In the three night run there were over 1,000 people in attendance. The Franklin Theatre, located in historic Downtown Franklin, has graciously fit us into their schedule so that we can produce LEGALLY BLONDE this month.

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL stars Franklin native Laura L Thomas as Elle Woods. Laura, who is currently residing in Los Angeles will be returning to Franklin for this one week of performances. Morton says, "I am thrilled that Laura Thomas is our Elle. She is a BRT fav and a dear friend of mine. Her energy and vivaciousness is such an integral part of bringing Elle Woods to life. There's no one else who could be my Elle Woods."

The cast also features Darci Wantiez (Paulette), Christopher Bailey (Emmett), Bakari King (Professor Callahan), Tyler Jeffrey Adams (Warner), Christina Candilora (Vivienne), Lark Morrison (Brooke), Harley Seger (Serena), Erica Haines (Pilar), Britt Byrd (Margot), and Katie Gant (Enid). The ensemble also includes Scott Wilson, Luke Collins, Bryce Conner, Zach Shockley, Diane Miller, Cat Arnold, Caitlyn Porayko, Chelsea Brannon, Nikki Berra, Amelia Young, Tyler Evick, and Lauri Gregoire. There is also a brief appearance of News Channel 4's Demetria Kalodimos. Jamey Green is musical director and leading a talented ensemble of local musicians in this expansive musical. Costume design and construction is by Katie Delaney with Billy Ditty taking the helm as Choreographer.

Performances of LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL will be Tuesday, September 30th at 7pm, Thursday, October 2nd at 7pm, Friday, October 3rd at 8pm, Saturday, October 4th 2pm & 8pm show. Ticket prices will range from $14 to $44 and may be purchased by calling the Franklin Theatre at 615-538-2076 or ordered online at www.FranklinTheatre.com/live-theater
