The Boiler Room Theatre, Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company, will kick off its 13th season with the side-splitting farce, Noises Off. The production will run from February 15th through March 9th at the theatre's iconic namesake venue in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tennessee.
Noises Off, Michael Frayn's slapstick play-within-a-play, follows the on-and off-stage antics of an acting troupe as they stumble from bumbling dress rehearsal to disastrous closing night. Everything that can go wrong does, as actors desperately try to hang on to their lines, their performances and the furniture. Add a slippery plate of sardines and many slamming doors, and you have the most hilarious backstage farce ever written.
Directing Noises Off is the Boiler Room Theatre's Co-Founder and Managing Director, Corbin Green. "This is a show we've wanted to produce since we opened the theatre almost 13 years ago and it's one of the most challenging shows I've ever directed," said Green. "Comedy is all about the timing, so it is vital that the director is laser focused on every detail of the show to ensure that every line, every movement, and every prop is in exactly the right place at the right time to get the laugh."
The cast of Noises Off will be playing on an enormous, free-standing, two story set. The entire structure will rotate for the second act, allowing the audience to see the play-within-a-play presented from two perspectives - on stage and backstage.
"This show is going to be spectacular because of the amazing cast and production team that we've assembled," said Green. "The level of talent we have involved in this show is unbelievable - it is such a funny and creative mix of people. The chemistry on stage and off is going to make this show an absolute must see."
The ensemble cast features Matt Baugher (Frederick Fellowes), Britt Byrd (Brooke Ashton), Laura Crockarell (BeLinda Blair), Flynt Foster (Garry Lejeune), Taylor Green (Poppy Norton-Taylor), Patrick Kramer (Lloyd Dallas), Josh Lowrey (Tim Allgood), Wesley Payne (Dotty Otley) and Dan Zeigler (Selsdon Mowbray). Joining Director Corbin Green on the production team for Noises Off will be Anthony Popolo (Set Design) and Katie Delaney (Costume Design).
