Connect with a Cause, an exhibit and holiday sale offering handmade goods from several Nashville-based artists and artisans, will be hosted by ASK Apparel, Blend Studio and Connect 12 Artist Collective.

Connect with a Cause will take place at Blend Studio in the Arcade in downtown Nashville from December 5, 2009 to January 30, 2010, with an opening reception during the First Saturday Gallery Crawl on December 5, from 6-9pm. Several happenings are planned throughout the exhibit and holiday sale, including extended hours for holiday shoppers and an artist talk & demonstration day.

Connect with a Cause will support both Nashville artists and several Nashville community organizations, including Safe Haven, Oasis Center, Downtown Presbyterian Church, and Urban Housing Solutions.

Items will be for sale from many Connect 12 artists, including photography by Eric Denton and Stacey Irvin; mixed media work by Tiffany Denton, Andee Rudloff, and Ben Vitualla; glass work by Daniel Lai, prints by Samantha Callahan, and paintings by Chris Hill. Sisters Alesandra, Sarah, and Kate Bellos, who collectively own and operate ASK Apparel, the naturally dyed organic apparel company, will have their full line of T-shirts and apparel accessories available for sale. Items may be taken home immediately after purchase.

Additionally, attendees will be able to learn about local organizations and monetary donations can be directed to your choice of local community organizations.

The exhibit and sale will also feature an artist meet and greet on Saturday December 19 from 1 to 3pm, where participating artists will share and discuss their work and processes.

We invite you to Connect with a Cause as a great opportunity to support your local artists and several of Nashville's community organizations.

History
Connect with a Cause, an idea grown by ASK Apparel in 2008, joins artists and community to raise funds and awareness for local community organizations. ASK Apparel invited members of the Connect 12 Artist Collective to join the festivities of their 2008 Holiday Open House and offer their talents to help local community organizations. This inaugural holiday sale and open house was a tremendous success, benefitting several organizations. Connect 12 Artist Collective is a group of community-minded artists, working in diverse media to promote individual growth through the exploration of craft and content.
