The Belcourt Theatre presents its 3rd annual nD Festival that includes special events and parties over three days that celebrate independent film, fashion and music, Sept. 28-30.

With a focus on local talent and local venues, nD gathers Belcourt’s friends and fans around the city and underscores the theatre’s mission to provide opportunities for people of all ages to discover, explore and learn through the power of film. Funds raised from the nD Festival support the Belcourt’s education and engagement programs.

Guests will enjoy inventive and memorable parties and events—a DJ-driven, late-night dance party; a found footage viewing party (think hilarious Internet viral and obscure videos); a Nashville street style fashion show; a stylish Saturday brunch and film; and more—at the Belcourt and at other independent local venues such as Peter Nappi Studio and Third Man Records. At nD Festival’s early Preview Party, Thursday, Sept. 13 at Imogene + Willie, guests will enjoy special selected merchant and artisan shopping, live music, refreshments and more.

The nD Festival chairs are Nan Flynn and Monica Mackie. Honorary chairs are Carrie and Matt Eddmenson of Imogene + Willie. Tickets are available at the Belcourt’s website, www.belcourt.org, for individual events and all-inclusive Patrons Passes. An nD Patrons Pass is $225 or $175 for Belcourt members, which provides FREE admission to all nD events, including the Preview Party and Patrons Party. For those who buy Patrons Passes who are not yet Belcourt members, this pass also provides a Belcourt Cast & Crew membership (a $45 value) with year-round benefits.

“This year’s nD Festival offers guests unforgettable and incredibly fun events that celebrate the independent spirit that is alive and well at the Belcourt and many local businesses,” says Nan Flynn, co-chair of the 2012 nD Festival, along with Monica Mackie. “From the imaginative parties around town to the chic and playful fashion show at the Belcourt, the nD Festival bursts with creative energy and inspiration.”

“The Belcourt is really fortunate to have so many community friends who share their time, talent and financial support with us through the nD Festival,” says Stephanie Silverman, executive director. “The impact this generosity makes has a direct effect on what we’re able to do throughout the year with after-school programs and organizations like the Martha O’Bryan Center and the Oasis Center. We’ve been able to expand our education programs dramatically because of the nD Festival over the past two years, and this year’s nD will only help us grow and enhance that work.”

The nD Festival culminates with the Fashion Show & Auction, Sunday evening, Sept. 30. With a united effort from some of Nashville’s most talented stylists, designers and local boutiques, the Belcourt will serve up an entertaining and one-of-a-kind fashion show that showcases Nashville street style. The party will feature cocktails, supper and mingling as well as an incredible silent auction featuring hundreds of items representing the best of indie Nashville.
