Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane is the next production in the 2009-2010 season at Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre, starring Linda Ellis as Mag. In McDonagh's Tony Award-winning play, "Maureen lives a lonely life with her ailing mother, Mag, in a small village in western Ireland. At forty years of age, Maureen has yet to experience love. When a romantic interest moves into her life, Mag incites a desperate game of deceit and manipulation to keep her daughter at home."

McDonagh's darkly comic masterpiece, which delves into a twisted co-dependent relationship that spirals into a jaw-dropping conclusion, runs October 16-30. The Roxy promises that the "dark comedy...will chill you to the bones."

Performances are at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and a 2 p.m. matinee on October 24. Tickets, which are $15 for adults and $10 for kids 13 and younger, may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, or by calling (931) 645-7699 during regular box office hours (9 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays).

Roxy theatergoers can purchase a ticket that includes a special themed dinner from Lovin' Spoonful Cafe for the October 17 performance. The cafe is partnering with the Roxy for a special dinner offering for the first Saturday night performance of each new production; for Beauty Queen, the entree, sides and dessert will reflect traditional Irish fare. Tickets for the special dinner are available on the Roxy website; after clicking on the "Buy Tickets Now" link, select "Dinner Show."

The Roxy Regional Theatre delivers live professional productions with skilled and experienced actors from across the United States. Roxy Regional Theatre is located at 100 Franklin Street.
