Nashville actor Scott Rice's new production company, Falling Frog Creations, presents John Bucchino's It's Only Life in celebration of Rice's birthday, at Street Theatre Company, 1933 Elm Hill Pike, October 7-9.

While this cabaret retrospective of the music of composer John Bucchino is the inaugural production of this new production company, it also coincides with the birthday celebration of its founder, Rice. Joining Rice onstage will be Megan Chambers, Tyson Laemmel and Olivia Skurka. Rollie Mains serves as musical director and accompanist.

General admission tickets are available for $15 and may be purchased online at http://www.fallingfrogcreations.com.

It's Only Life is a musical revue about longing, fulfillment, loss, triumph and ultimately, wisdom- filled with Bucchino's "flowing, finely made piano ballads [which] describe an urban life in which relationships come and go in cycles of yearning, fulfillment, heartbreak and healing" - where  romantic love is anticipated with "high expectations, high anxiety and open hearts," according to New York Times). The show won LA's 2008 Ovation Award for Best Book/Lyrics/Music for an Original Musical.

The original production was directed by Daisy Prince and received its world premiere at  the Rubicon Theatre Company on June 21, 2008. It was originally presented Off-Broadway at SPF-04. This production is presented through special arrangement with R&H Theatricals.

Bucchino's songs have been performed and recorded by renowned pop, theatre, cabaret and classical artists including Liza Minnelli, Barbara Cook, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Judy Collins, Yo Yo Ma, Art Garfunkel, Patti LuPone, Michael Feinstein, and Audra McDonald. He has written scores for the musicals Urban Myths, Lavender Girl, Broadway's A Catered Affair (winner of the Drama League Award for Best Musical, with a book by Harvey Fierstein), It's Only Life and the Dreamworks animated film, Joseph, King of Dreams. Recordings include: Grateful, The Songs of John Bucchino, Solitude Lessons, On Richard Rodgers' Piano (solo piano interpretations of Rodgers' songs on the composer's own Steinway), and original cast recordings of It's Only Life and A Catered Affair.
