Act Too Players to Perform Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR, ANYTHING GOES, and SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, 1/17-24

The Act Too Players (ATP), Williamson County's premier training program for all youths interested in the performing arts will take the stage in January with the mounting of three musical productions: Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR, ANYTHING GOES, and SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. The productions will run from January 17th through January 24th at the historic Franklin Theatre located in Downtown Franklin, Tennessee.

Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. features the hit songs "Part of Your World," "She's in Love," and the Oscar-winning "Under the Sea." This production will feature memorable songs, fun dance numbers, and a great time for all ages. This production is a one act musical perfect for young audiences. The show dates for this production are from January 17th until January 19th. Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR will be presented by four casts being performed by ages 6-9 years and 10-13 years.

ALL ABOARD for a saucy and splendid production of Cole Porter's classic Broadway musical Peppering this hilariously bumpy ride are some of musical theatre's most memorable standards, including 'I Get a Kick out of You,' 'It's De-Lovely,' and of course, 'Anything Goes.' This will be a Full Length Musical with Intermission and is suitable for all ages. Directed by Sondra Morton, Musically Directed by Jamey Green, Choreographed by Kate Adams with Blow Gabriel Blow being choreographed by Bellevue Dance Center's Lauri Gregoire. The show dates for this production are January 20th until January 24th. Our production of ANYTHING GOES will be performed by two casts ages 14-18 years.

In SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD Jason Robert Brown says, "It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back." These are the stories and characters of today, the SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basket-ball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage. This is a two act musical with a Pop/Rock influence. There is only one performance on January 22nd.This production is Directed by Megan Chambers and performed by students ages 14-18.

This series of productions will be performed January 17th through January 24th with various show times which can be found on the Franklin Theatre website. Ticket prices range from $15 dollar tickets to $25 tickets for the cabaret seating at the front of the audience. The Act Too Players is currently enrolling for its Spring Semester classes. In 2002, the Act Too Players youth programming began as a single class offering on one day a week. In the past 12 years, we have expanded our theatre class offerings to include a range of top-notch acting classes, dance classes for the performer, behind the scenes classes, vocal lessons, and our well-known musical theatre program. Our instructors are working Nashville professionals in the areas that they are teaching which will provide your child with relevant knowledge of theatre skills.

Our youth programming is designed to give each student the opportunity for a well-rounded performing arts education. We are located in Franklin, TN and within easy access to Brentwood, Spring Hill, Nashville, and Murfreesboro. We pride ourselves in being one of the most respected training programs for youths interested in the performing arts.
