The Act Too Players (ATP), Williamson County's premier training program for all youths interested in the performing arts is introducing a new program called AT Pro (Act Too Pro) will be dedicated to providing live professional theatre by utilizing the talents of Act Too Players teachers, alumni, and current students to create an experience that inspires, challenges, and educates the children of Williamson County. Fresh from Broadway, AT Pro (Act Too Pro) will be producing the musical MARY POPPINS, an enchanting, heartwarming show with an important message about love and cherishing what really matters that families in the Nashville area will definitely not want to miss. MARY POPPINS will be presented August 18th -23rd at the beautiful, historic Franklin Theatre.

AT Pro (Act Too Pro) is the next level to our training school, the Act Too Players. AT Pro serves a dual use for Act Too Players and the Community. The Act Too Players trains young performers in musical theatre and theatre with the hope that each one will be given enough training to be successful in many career fields.

AT Pro's purpose is to utilize the talents of instructors, alumni, and current students to provide Williamson County and its surrounding areas with family friendly professional theatre. It is our goal to produce one or two high quality productions each year.

We believe that theatre is a collaborative form of fine art with the potential to give insight into worlds and experiences unknown. Theatre is storytelling. Theatre is imagination. Theatre is a gift that live performers give to audience members through many forms of creative expression which is why we are thrilled to present MARY POPPINS as our inaugural production.

Everyone's favorite practically perfect nanny takes the stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical adventure. One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins delighted Broadway audiences for over 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven TONY Awards, including Best Musical.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

Director Sondra Morton adds, "Mary Poppins reminds me that we are only restricted by the limitations we put on ourselves. If you want something, you can make it a reality, if you trust yourself and are open to all possibilities. This is what keeps theatre alive. This is what keeps us moving forward with Act Too Players. This is what keeps me excited!"

The cast features Nashville favorite Megan Murphy Chambers as Mary Poppins, Billy Ditty as Bert, Corrie Miller as Winifred Banks. Other cast members include Erica Haines, Jennifer Whitcomb-Oliva, Vicki White, Lisa Gillespie Jeremy Maxwell. This cast is comprised of individuals who have been teachers, master class instructors, actors, or students with Act Too Players. Auditions will be held Saturday May 23rd to cast remaining parts and the ensemble (visit website to sign up for auditions).

The AT Pro creative team includes Jamey Green as Musical Director, Anthony Popolo as Scenic Designer; Cat Arnold as Costume Designer; and Jayme Smith as Production Stage Manager.

Ticket prices range from $15 dollar tickets to $49 tickets for the cabaret seating at the front of the audience. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Franklin Theatre at 615.538.2076 or ordered online at http://www.franklintheatre.com/live-theater/ beginning May 1st.
