Based on Anton Chekhov’s masterpiece The Cherry Orchard, this witty comedy with a hint of nostalgia is the story of an upper-class family who are forced to sell their estate, including a beloved orchard, to pay off debts that have accumulated from years of mismanagement and decadence. Directed by Eda Holmes, Montreal playwright Harry Standjofski’s urgent and clever new adaptation of this timeless classic deftly captures the existential angst we all experience in the face of an uncertain future. With original music by Montreal indie pop/rock sensation Torquil Campbell of Stars, this highly anticipate World Premiere runs from September 17 to October 6, 2024.
