Montreals own Jazz-Folk fusion singer-songwriter, Loryn Taggart, presents her highly anticipated debut album ‘The Lost Art of Pulling Through’, live at the Cabaret Lion D’or for one night only.
Loryn Taggart is a singer, songwriter, producer and genre-bending musician. She has ambitiously broken through the music industry, achieving notable recognition before the release of her debut album. This Hungarian-Canadian musician was raised in the Prairies before moving to Toronto as a teenager to pursue a life in music and film. From performing with Toronto based bands, touring the maritimes to taking the stage solo at legendary venues such as the Cameron House, Le Verre Bouteille, Rivoli and performing alongside blues singer Shakira Saida at the Horse Shoe Tavern. Loryn quickly gained recognition nominations for song of the year at the 2022 Canadian Folk Awards and winning Blues Innovative Songwriter at the Cobalt Music Awards.
In 2020, Loryn had the pleasure of touring with Canadian Folk Musician Donovan Woods, and most notably in 2021 was asked to audition for the role of David Bowie on an international tribute show which highlighted the ‘Berlin Trilogy Era’, which she toured with throughout 2022. Loryn performed as the iconic musician Bowie at venues such as Place Des Arts, Canadian Arts Centre and the Amphitheatre Cogeco, performing songs like Station to Station and Heroes, being the first female to do so on a major tour.
In 2022 Loryn teamed up with producer Marcus Paquin (The National, Tim Baker) to create her debut album ‘The Lost Art of Pulling Through’ a concept album bringing the listener on a journey through loss and how creation can bring you back to life.
Loryn is excited to be bringing The Lost Art of Pulling Through to the stage with a carefully selected group of Montreal based musicians.
