Norway’s leading contemporary dance company will be featured at Danse Danse in their first visit to Canada. Twelve dancers will be presenting Corps de Walk, a splendid work by Gai Behar and Sharon Eyal, a choreographer whose piece Bertolina was performed by Batsheva Dance Company at Danse Danse in 2007. In artistic residence at this prestigious Scandinavian institution, Sharon Eyal created a piece inspired by walking, which for her is the new dance. From this prosaic subject matter she has woven a mysterious, fascinating work where dancers in body tights become mythical creatures, asexual and unsettling, who conquer the space with exemplary precision. “A dream at times almost frightening, but throughout breathtakingly beautiful. You wish for ten eyes for a total panoramic view.” (coolibri.de, Germany). Hypnotic.
