What's the word, hummingbird? Two-time META Award nominee WISTA is pleased to announce its eighth major musical production, BYE BYE BIRDIE. This production will run for 6 performances on June 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 7:30 PM, as well as June 11 and 18 at 1:30 PM, 2016 at the Louise Chalmers Theatre (John Rennie High School, 501 boulevard St. Jean, Pointe-Claire, QC).

1950's rock sensation Conrad Birdie has been drafted to the army, leaving his manager Albert Peterson in a state of panic. As a final publicity stunt before his induction, Albert and his girlfriend Rose Alvarez hatch a supposedly "brilliant" plan to save their music company. Along with Conrad, the two head to Sweet Apple, Ohio where the teen heartthrob will plant a goodbye kiss on one lucky fan for the entire world to see, sending the whole town into utter chaos!

This cast of 25 young and talented performers all have one thing in common: a passion for musical theatre, which they balance with their work or studies in Montreal-area CEGEPs and universities. Bye Bye Birdie's colorful cast of characters provide a fantastic opportunity for WISTA members to develop their performance skills while allowing WISTA to dive into a brand new era in which the company has not yet explored.

"WISTA presents Bye Bye Birdie is a hilarious and satirical take on the classic Tony Award winning musical. Each character is so very relatable; we all had that celebrity crush, overbearing parents and loved to hear the latest gossip as teens. The energy, enthusiasm and talent I see at every rehearsal are enough to make every audience member 'Put On A Happy Face'!" says Craig Berger, Producer and WISTA President.

Tickets are now available through www.WISTA.ca/tickets or by calling 1.800.838.3006!
