Due to popular demand, two performances have been added to the Segal Centre's production of The Graduate, adapted for the stage by Terry Johnson and directed by Andrew Shaver. Audiences are flocking to the Segal's 2014-2015 Season opener, which premiered on September 4th to rave reviews and tremendous buzz. The production will run until September 23rd, 2014.
When a dazed college graduate becomes entangled in a love triangle with a mother and daughter, he finds himself caught between the allure of experience and the promise of a bright future.
Hailed as "newly observed, freshly curated and often hilarious" by The Montreal Gazette's Pat Donnelly, this new stage production of the 2000 West End and Broadway hit invites audiences to re-live the classic 1960s film in a whole new way. SideMart Theatrical Grocery's Andrew Shaver's inventive direction is matched by a terrific cast led by Brigitte Robinson in an electrifying turn as Mrs. Robinson, and rising star Luke Humphrey as disillusioned college graduate Benjamin Braddock.
Original music composed and performed live on stage by Canadian folk-rock luminaries Justin Rutledge and Matthew Barber sets the tone for the Segal's melodious new season, which continues with the highly-anticipated World English premiere of Belles Soeurs: The Musical this October.
