Segal Centre for Performing Arts

Segal Centre for Performing Arts

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts is dedicated to creating, producing, and presenting world-class English-language theatre, and to showcasing the best professional artists from Montreal and beyond. A part of the community since 1967, the organization was reborn in 2007 as the Segal and has expanded to become a nationally recognized venue for the performing arts with a focus on creation, innovation, diversity, and cross-cultural collaborations. Driven by a belief in the power of the arts to strengthen and connect communities, the Segal's programming emphasizes original interpretations of popular classic and contemporary works, new Canadian musicals, and engaging productions with universal appeal. The Segal also believes in the importance of celebrating and exploring Jewish identity through the arts. Based on the belief that theatre should be accessible to all, our professional performing arts Academy and diverse Educational programs inspire the next generation of artists and enrich the audience's theatre experience. Working closely with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities, the Segal also offers ASL-interpreted performances for certain productions and assisted listening audio-systems. It is also easily accessible to patrons with reduced mobility. We are committed to making each of our guests visit to the theatre as convenient as possible. More Information

Capitol Theatre

Capitol Theatre

Like all arts institutions in Canada, the Capitol Theatre relies on donors to help accomplish everything we do. Your support helps us to create high quality professional theatre, attract the best artists from across the country, partner with local organizations and arts organizations, offer community programming, and keep our tickets affordable. Just as importantly, when you support the Capitol, you are helping Port Hope and the region. Our success is reflected in the success of our local economy—restaurants, shops, and hotels. In turn, those businesses employ people in the area and inject more into the community. If you love Port Hope, we invite you to be part of its success by making a donation to the Capitol. Bad Dog Theatre Company

Bad Dog Theatre Company

Bad Dog Theatre Company is an award-winning, artist-run charity that has produced Toronto's best improvised comedy. This year, we are celebrating Bad Dog's 20th year serving the Toronto Improv community. Our Mission: to create top quality performances and training for our audience, performers and students, to reflect the artistic value of improvised theatre and its ability to provide live shared experiences. Our Vision: to transform the culture and perception of improvised theatre, elevating the artform to unprecedented standards of success and professionalism. For our 20th year anniversary, we are looking to fundraise $20,000. Like many in the arts, we are recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown and closures. We are seeking financial support to help revitalize the company, so we may continue to share the joy of comedy and improv with our artists and audiences. Nightwood Theatre

Nightwood Theatre

Support feminist theatre this Giving Tuesday! Art should reflect the diverse and complex world we live in, and to achieve this, we need to break down the barriers that have historically hindered women and gender-diverse folks from reaching their full potential within the theatre industry. Women represent over half of all theatre school students, but after graduation, their presence diminishes to only 33% of artistic directors, 34% of working directors, and a mere 27% of produced playwrights. Nightwood cultivates, creates, and produces extraordinary theatre by women and gender-expansive artists. Because of your support, Nightwood continues to serve as a safe and nurturing space where individuals can unleash their creativity and develop their talents. Our 2023/24 season offers three stunning and arresting world premieres! Our community programs give both new and experienced artists a platform to showcase their talents, fostering an environment of inclusivity and diversity in every aspect of theatre, helping to bring fresh perspectives and narratives to the stage. We would be so grateful for your continued championing through donating to Nightwood. Your generosity will make a tangible difference and allow us to continue providing a platform for talented individuals who have been historically underrepresented in the theatre industry. Tarragon Theatre

Tarragon Theatre

Tarragon Theatre invites you to join us in fueling the growth of groundbreaking Canadian theatre. Your donation on this national day of giving supports Greenhouse, a dynamic, interdisciplinary residency and festival that empowers artists to bring fresh, innovative projects to life. Until November 28th, your contribution will have double the impact as The Bulmash-Siegel Foundation generously matches up to $7,000 in donations. Donate now and be part of growing new Canadian theatre. "The program's intention was to nurture and ‘grow' artists, and I must say it succeeded beyond what could have been reasonably expected. Their focus on finding us, who might not fit into a traditional residency or incubator program, shone through […] I felt incredibly respected and cared for as a creator." – Adam F. Proulx, 2023 Greenhouse Artist More Information
