After a successful premier at the 2017 Toronto Fringe Festival, and an officially selected run at The Second City Toronto's John Candy Box Series, very woke musical comedian Anesti Danelis, makes his Montreal Fringe debut with his delightfully dark acoustic comedy Songs for a New World Order, playing at the Black Theatre Workshop Studio from June 7 - 17.
"This guy on the sidewalk was yelling at an ambulance trying to get through traffic. He was following the truck and yelling at them to turn down their sirens." Anesti explains. "It reminded me that we're just a bunch of self-involved weirdos floating through space, so let's laugh at each other, and that's why I made this show."
Written and performed by Anesti Danelis, (official selections: Montreal Sketchfest (2017), Chicago Sketchfest (2017, 2018), and Fresh Notes Fest (2018)), and directed by Tricia Black (Songbuster: An Improvised Musical NNNN - Now Magazine, The Sketchersons: Sunday Night Live) these catchy tunes promise to leave your heart full, and your mind woke. But not just regular woke. Woke af...ap. Woke as fast as possible.
