The award-winning Lyric Theatre Singers have announced their return to the DB Clarke stage for four performances of their all-new show, Forever Broadway!, June 12, 13 and 14. Musical theatre fans will enjoy a cast of 40 vocalists, backed by five musicians, perform in this original, high-energy musical revue!
Forever Broadway! is a tribute to the composers and creators of the musical theatre stage. This irresistible collection of tunes combines well known classics with favourite songs from today's hottest shows. Montreal's Broadway dream-team of Bob Bachelor and Chris Barillaro, have compiled a crowd-pleasing, eclectic mix of music that will captivate audience members of all ages. Long-time collaborator, choreographer Mary Sarli, rounds out the artistic team to put the Singers through their dancing paces!
Selections from Ain't Misbehavin', Guys and Dolls, Cinderella and Thoroughly Modern Millie, will be presented along with ever popular songs from Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell, Avenue Q and Mary Poppins and much, much more. "We have even included selections from the television series SMASH, a favourite of musical theatre fans," says Bachelor. "These songs are very special, wonderfully written and are a perfect fit with the other material we have chosen for this show."
Forever Broadway's design team is made up of lighting designer Paul Ludwig Teichgraber, sound designer Rob Burgess, costume coordinator Karen Pearce, with Jean-Claude Olivier supplying the beautiful hand-painted drops for which he is famous. "We are so fortunate to be working with these talented artists in a state-of-the-art facility," says producer Louise Dorais. "Here, we have all the technical support and expertise to bring the artistic team's vision to life. It is very exciting to combine the great performances by our cast and musicians with the enhanced production values at DB Clarke Theatre. The result will be 100% pure entertainment."
