GLEAMS THEATRE is happy to present the Canadian premiere of Where Were You When I Was Coming written by C. S. Hanson and directed by Ira Sokolova which will take place on Wednesday, December 3, at 7:30pm at Hotel Auberge Manoir Ville-Marie, located at 3130 St. Catherine St. East.

Where Were You When I Was Coming is a highly entertaining contemporary comedic piece written in a 10-minute play form that lends itself well to experimentation. After a good dose of laughter comes the realization of how fragile, confused, lonely and unsatisfied the individual in modern society can be.

C. S. Hanson is a writer and a playwright based in New York City. A small detail or an offbeat circumstance is what makes the emergencies in her plays engaging and irresistible. Hanson's landscape is instantly personal but the conflicts are unequivocally universal. We identify and invest quickly in the quirky world of her plays. Ira Sokolova's stage vision as director, costume, music & lighting designer of the show creates an intimate and unique experience for the audience. Her double cast built by young, well trained and talented actors bring variety of flavor and nuance. The setting is simple, the concept is interesting: two identical hotel rooms with two different casts performing the same play simultaneously.

A cocktail-intermission after the play will give the audience the opportunity to meet the author, director, actors, the manager of Hotel Auberge Shahrzad Ghaffari and the participants in the variety show that will follow. The program includes musicians, writers, comedians, dancers and singers who have been involved in one way or another in Gleams Theatre's activities during the last 10 years.
