CETM Inc. presents its much-anticipated special concert-South Park: Smaller, Shorter and Definitely Cut-one night only on August 17, 2012 at the beautiful theatre at Maison de la culture Frontenac, 2550 Rue Ontario Est., Montreal.

The Centre for Education and Theatre in Montreal (CETM) believes that the best way to have a vibrant local cultural scene is to create one. In other words, this means helping the producers and performing artists of tomorrow to develop the tools they need to be truly successful out in the workplace.

This special concert presentation (in English) is inspired by the film South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut and is part of CETM's Next Wave Festival of New Musicals. It's a musical satire with songs by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the talented creators of the current Broadway smash, The Book of Mormon.

The presentation is full of references from pop culture, including films from Disney and musicals like Les Misérables, and features "cameo" appearances by such famous figures as Satan and Saddam Hussein. The original film was nominated for an Oscar in 2000 for best new song with the incendiary hit Blame Canada. This comic presentation is for adults only.

As we are not beholden to any specific producing organization, our CETM structure allows us to offer year-round support through our team of dedicated staffers, who are especially interested helping young artists who share our values and vision with their production and marketing initiatives.

This is the 5th Anniversary of the Next Wave Festival of New Musicals. Our production from last year, The Prince and the Pauper, in its original French version, has been invited to the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival in New York. Having recently obtained charitable status from the Canada Revenue Agency, CETM is looking forward to a new year of activities centered around service to its artists and the broader community in general.

Tickets are available by calling (514) 504-9339 or by visiting www.montrealnextwave.com.
