BOOK OF MORMON, the smash hit, 2011 Tony Award winning musical by SOUTH PARK creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Robert Lopez (AVENUE Q, FROZEN) says "Hello" to Montreal in a short 8 performance run.

BOOK OF MORMON tells the tale of Elder Price (Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee, Gavin Creel) and Elder Cunningham, (Christopher John O'Neill, making his professional debut) two Mormons sent out on their first mission to Uganda.

Arriving in Uguanda, Elder Price and Elder Cunningham meet fellow Mormon missionaries who have been trying to spread the word to the Ugandan people, with no luck. Elder Cunningham, with his vivid imagination and flair for lying, teaches the Ugandans his version of the Book of Mormon, which includes references to Star Wars, Star Trek and Lord of the Rings. The Ugandan people see these "teachings" as their salvation, which will lead them to paradise, or in this case, Salt Lake City, Utah, and all agree to be baptized as Mormons. Meanwhile, Elder Price, believing he can solve the worlds problems on his own, learns in a rather painful way, that he cannot and returns, quite literally with his tail between his legs.

BOOK OF MORMON is an energetic, fast paced comedy-musical. The musical numbers, from the opener, "Hello" are hilarious and imaginative. The ensembles singing and dancing are glorious. BOOK OF MORMON is not for the easily offended, as one would expect from Parker and Stone. Led by Creel, who has an incredible voice and the hilarious O'Neill, BOOK OF MORMON is not to be missed.

The only downside is the venue. Salle Willfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts has terrible acoustics for musical performances of this nature. much of the subtext is lost because the audience simply can't hear or make out the words.

Sadly, BOOK OF MORMON is here for such a short time, with tickets nearly sold out. There is a lottery offered for $25 per ticket. Patrons are invited to enter the lottery 2 1/2 hours prior to curtain.

Don't miss your chance to say "Hello" to this hilarious, laugh-out-loud msuical.

BOOK OF MORMON runs through December 7 at Salle Willfred-Pelletier, Place des Arts. Tickets are available at www.placedesarts.com or by calling 1-866-842-2122
