Acts to Grind Theatre to present the Quebec Premiere of Brad Fraser's TRUE LOVE LIES Opening Tonight through 2/18 Image

True Love Lies is a gut wrenchingly moving dark comedy that promises to be a great opportunity to experience Brad Fraser's, Canada's Bad-Boy of Theatre, brilliant writing once again. The rapid fire dialogue and action moves along at an incredibly fast pace, the language is very dense, almost like Shakespeare, and it's filled to the brim with fantastic humorous Brad Fraser wit. The character David McMillan returns for a fourth appearance in one of Fraser's plays; is he Fraser's alter-ego perhaps? In this provocative, challenging, sexualized sitcom-cum-family-explosive sexcapade, McMillan, now a successful restaurateur, returns to Yorkville after a twenty-year absence.

The stars crisscross and collide with his close college-days friend Kane Sawatsky, now a successful Interior Decorator and family man, causing mayhem and bedlam to ensue. The bonds of friendship, family values and business relations are put to the test; can they remain steadfast and with- stand, uninterrupted by the truths behind the lies told to those we love in order to protect them, once the truth is revealed?

Acts to Grind Theatre managing artistic director Davyn Ryall will direct the production opening at the Calixa Lavallee Cultural Center's Theatre Paul Buissonneau located in Parc LaFontaine.

"I saw the original premiere production of True Love Lies in Toronto at the Factory Theatre, directed by Brad Fraser in October 2009. I was completely enamoured by the experience. Craving to bring it to Montreal from the page to the stage is a challenging undertaking and one that I am now ready to take on," says Davyn. This production marks Acts To Grind Theatre's fth (5th) since founded in July 2016. https://www.facebook.com/actstogrind/

This limited run of nine performances, February 8th to 18th, marks the firrst time ever that the award winning, contemporary Canadian playwright Brad Fraser is produced in original English, in Quebec.
