The final masterpiece of Rodgers and Hammerstein, winner of 5 Academy Awards for its film adaptation, The Sound of Music continues to stir adult and child alike with its "enduring appeal" - New York Times. The much-loved true story about learning to sing and learning to love begins when Maria, a nun causing her Abbey trouble, is sent off to be governess to the Captain Von Trapp's seven troublesome children. Set in 1938 Austria as Hitler's Germany spreads, the family has much to overcome to keep their newly found sound of music alive.
