Open Aid Alliance announced Friday that it will partner with the University of Montana School of Theatre & Dance for a special presentation of Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2013.
Set during the early days of the AIDS epidemic, two couples in New York City grapple with seemingly insurmountable forces, both internal and external. Angels in America provides thrilling juxtapositions of the intimate with the spectacular, the very public (politics) with the very private (love and sexuality), and rich humor with stark pathos. Societal and personal change are both chronicled with deftness and empathy even for the drama's most malicious characters. Full of passion, compassion, and big ideas, Tony Kushner's epic Part One of Angels in America is no less than one of the most important plays of the late twentieth century.
Open Aid Alliance will join in a talkback after the 3:00 pm matinee. This is a time to discuss the challenges of living with HIV today. Stigma, discrimination, and prevention strategies will be topics for discussion.
