BetweenTheLines Theatre, the newest theatre company to hit Missoula, MT, is honored to present award-winning, critically lauded contemporary scripts in its inaugural 2016-2017 season. BetweenTheLines will be housed at The Roxy Theatre, engrained in the heart of the Missoula arts community.

The mission of BetweenTheLines is to tell stories that are true to us today by bringing brave Contemporary Theatre to the Roxy stage. With an aesthetic of simplicity, their aim is to best elucidate the core of the theatrical experience - the energetic feedback loop between the actor and spectator. In doing so, they seek to create the kind of intimate audience-actor relationship where incredible things will inevitably happen. The three scripts chosen to best accomplish this goal are The Aliens by Annie Baker, Constellations by Nick Payne, and Stupid F*cking Bird by Aaron Posner.

The Roxy hosts screenings and events seven days a week including new releases nightly. They seek to merge community, cinema and education with the help of our community, volunteers and our members in the heart of Downtown Missoula, Montana. The Roxy is also host to two film festivals: Montana Film Festival, and the International Wildlife Film Festival. Their mission is to inspire, educate & engage diverse audiences through our innovative programs. BetweenTheLines is the latest.

Director, Mason Wagner will produce collaboratively with The Roxy after their sell-out production of Annie Baker's Pulitzer Winner The Flick in Spring '16. Starring popular local actors, The Flick, was a Missoula favorite. Turning crowds away for their limited engagement left Missoula audiences ready for more from BetweenTheLines.

With an intimate knowledge of the Missoula arts community, Wagner has been a part of nearly twenty productions during his six years in Missoula ranging from two national tours with the Montana Repertory Theatre, to a remount of John Osborne's classic Look Back in Anger. He is nothing short of thrilled to have BetweenTheLines as a platform to continue his work.
