EarthCam (www.earthcam.com), the Internet's premier global webcam network, is celebrating the life of Mark Twain, donating a live webcam and services to the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum in Hannibal, MO.

The EarthCam contribution was recognized during ceremonies April 21 at the museum marking the 100th Anniversary of the famous author and humorist's death.

The ceremony honored the legacy of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, known to the world as "Mark Twain", who spent his formative years in Hannibal from the ages of 4 to 17. Twain immortalized Hannibal in his best-loved books, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which continue to outsell today's bestsellers in the U.S. and abroad; they are published in more than sixty languages.

The ceremony featured three events, including the burying of a time capsule filled with Twain memorabilia, the unveiling of a new exhibit at the Huckleberry Finn House on museum property and the launch of the live EarthCam webcam (www.earthcam.com/marktwain). The webcam will show the entire mall area in front of the Boyhood Home, including Tom Sawyer's famous white-washed fence with the Mississippi River as a backdrop.

"We are proud to help celebrate Mark Twain's great contribution to world literature," said Joseph Nizza, EarthCam Vice President, Business Development. "Supporting the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum with our webcam technology is an opportunity for EarthCam to continue to educate and enlighten international audiences through live webcam video", added Nizza.
