Broadway continues in the Flathead Valley when Alpine Theatre Project continues its season of Love! Romance! Murder! with the charming musical, She Loves Me. The musical, called "one of the most delightful musicals of the 20th century" by the Wall Street Journal, runs July 12-29 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, Tuesdays-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 6pm.

She Loves Me is based on the Hungarian play, Parfumerie, which has been adapted into such movies as The Shop Around the Corner and most recently with You've Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. It tells the tale of Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash, co-workers who can't stand each other but unknowingly fall in love as pen pals.

It stars ATP founding artists Luke Walrath and Betsi Morrison as the reluctant couple along with a host of professional talent from Broadway and beyond. The production is being directed by Brian J. Marcum, a veteran of six Broadway shows including the Tony Award winning Spamalot and The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman. The scenery has been designed by three-time Emmy Award winner, Bob Phillips, who is the Production Designer for Sesame Street. Actors include Kevin Vortmann, who last performed on Broadway in the recent revival of A Little Night Music with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury. The production also stars ATP founding artist and Broadway veteran, David Ackroyd and local favorites Nick and Rebecca Spear.

"This is bound to be one of the most charming and romantic shows ATP has ever produced," says Morrison. "And we're thrilled to continue to bring such world-class talent to the Valley."

Alpine Theatre Project presents She Loves Me from July 12 - 29 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center, Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 6pm. Patrons can call (406) 862-SHOW or visit alpinetheatreproject.org for more information or to order tickets.
