Forest ropes at OPERA DE MASSY

The popular Holberg Suite, suite of dances "in the old style", is a tip of the hat from the Norwegian Grieg in the Bach, Telemann and Rameau, and Serenade in c major Tchaikovsky found place in the direct line "sinfonias" Italian and Viennese entertainment of the 18th century.
In the heart of the program dedicated to the strings: the reunion between the Orchestra and the savoyard violinist Renaud Capuçon, world-renowned soloist. It interpreter polyptych for violin and two orchestras (commissioned by Yehudi Menuhin)-stringed. This sacred, intensely melodic and singing inspiration for the violin concerto, is in six parts referring to the Passion of the Christ and its final Glorification. The "stereo effect" of two orchestras play echo, antagonism, dialogue to stripe the tessitura of a forest of ropes.
