Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) and Freestyle Releasing announce today that they have acquired the U.S. theatrical and VOD rights, and set February 6th in time for Valentine's Day as the release date, for ONE SMALL HITCH, the charming romantic comedy that stars Shane McRae (THE HELP, "The Following"), Aubrey Dollar (FAILURE TO LAUNCH, upcoming "Battle Creek"), Robert Belushi (DEVIL'S DUE, "How I Met Your Mother"), Ron Dean (THE FUGITIVE) and Daniel J. Travanti (HILL STREET BLUES). Directed by John Burgess and written by Dode B. Levenson, the film was produced by Burgess and Brett Henenberg and will be available on DVD later in the year, date forthcoming.

Female lead and standout Aubrey Dollar can also be seen starring in the upcoming "Battle Creek" which hits CBS mid-season. The highly anticipated series is from "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan and "House MD" executive producer David Shore.

On a flight home to Chicago for a family wedding, childhood friends Josh (McRae) and Molly (Dollar) innocently agree to fake a wedding engagement to make Josh's dying father happy. Things quickly get out of hand with their two boisterous families, and a series of events causes them to not only pretend to be a couple but to start planning a phony wedding. When the playacting begins to foster real feelings, the chaos takes a greater turn in this hilarious, romantic comedy.

With award wins at the California Independent Film Festival, Laugh or Die Comedy Fest, L.A. Comedy Film Festival and Screenplay Competition, Chicago Comedy Film Festival, and Cinequest San Jose Film Festival, ONE SMALL HITCH became a buzz worthy film on the festival circuit, racking up numerous other nominations and awards.

The deal was negotiated by Chris Charalambous, Head of Acquisitions for Freestyle and by John Burgess, the movie's producer.

"This film has been a true indie darling," said Mark Borde, Co-President of Freestyle Releasing. "It has excellent word of mouth and is a perfect day and date release."

Recent Freestyle titles include the box office hit GOD'S NOT DEAD, TIGER EYES, the first big screen adaptation of a Judy Blume novel starring Willa Holland, the SXSW festival favorite FUNERAL KINGS from the McManus Brothers, and Nicolas Cage starrer LEFT BEHIND.
