The Master Builder charts two pivotal days in the life of Halvard Solness, an architect who has managed to keep down all of his rivals and reach the top of his profession. But this progress has not been without it's personal costs. When the young Hilde Wagnel arrives seeking the kingdom he promised her ten years ago these personal debts come to the fore and Solness must face his fears and the possibility of his own downfall.
A potent metaphor for the struggle between duty and desire presented in an exciting new version, highlighting it's symbolist undertones.
By Henrik Ibsen in a new version written and directed by Vincent A. O’Reilly.
