Bright Star is a Broadway musical about love and redemption set in the American South during the 1920s and 1940s. The musical is based on a true story and features a Grammy-nominated score by Edie Brickell and Steven Martin. It follows literary editor Alice Murphy, who meets a young soldier after World War II and is inspired to confront her past. The two discover a secret that could change their lives, and the story moves back and forth between the pre-Depression era and the post-war era.
