From an enigmatic fishing cabin, through the gardens of Versailles, to the most prestigious stage in England, Walking Shadow's twelfth season explodes the ideas of true love, the hidden costs of complacency, and the hazards of social change.

The River

by Jez Butterworth
directed by Amy Rummenie

Open Eye Theatre
September 3 - 17, 2016
On a moonless night in August, a man brings his new girlfriend to the remote family cabin where he has come for the fly fishing since he was a boy. Will she be the perfect catch -- or the one that got away? A bewitching story about how even our most intimate moments are shaped by the ghosts of the past, from the author of Jerusalem and Mojo.

Marie Antoinette

by David Adjmi
directed by John Heimbuch

Red Eye Theater
February 10 - March 4, 2017

Marie, the young queen of France, lives in a society of extravagance and artifice. But when revolution brews, can the doomed elite help who they've become? From gilded palace to soggy dungeon, this vibrant historical riff revels in exploding our ideas of comfort, complacency and compassion.

Red Velvet

by Lolita Chakrabarti

directed by Amy Rummenie

The Southern Theater
May 12 - 28, 2017

Edmund Kean, a titan of his generation, collapses on stage, leaving Covent Garden without their Othello. Ira Aldridge, an unknown African American actor, is invited to take over the role. But as the public riot in the streets over the abolition of slavery, how will the cast, critics and audience react to the revolution taking place in the theatre?

Season tickets are now available for our 2016-2017 season! Each season ticket costs $66 (or $60 for seniors) and includes admission to The River, Marie Antoinette, and Red Velvet.
