Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) presents Shakespeare's Richard III in weekend performances February 12 through March 6.
This thrilling Shakespearean masterpiece features one of the theater's most entertaining villains - the deformed yet charismatic Richard, Duke of Gloucester, who boasts that he "can smile and murder whiles I smile". The diabolical Richard carves a murderous path through his own family to take the English throne. But to seize power is one thing; to hold on to it, another - and Richard soon finds the ghosts of his past rising up to challenge his rule.
George M. Roesler directs the 21-member cast featuring Lucas Gerstner as Richard. Sets are designed by Laura Tracy, costumes by Carolann Winther, with lighting by Mark Kieffer and Bill Larsen.
An audience discussion with members of the company will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, February 21.
Tickets are $22. For information, call the theatre's box office at 612-333-3010 or visit its website at www.TheatreintheRound.org.
