Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) continues its 66th season with The Canterville Ghost, in weekend performances from March 16 - April 8, 2018.
The no-nonsense Otis family from New York buys an old mansion in rural England, scoffing at warnings of its fierce ghost. But it's true - the spirit of Sir Simon Canterville has haunted his homestead for more than 500 years. The nobleman is appalled at this invasion by Americans and is determined to scare them out - or worse. This re-telling of the well-known short story is complete with the creaking floorboards and clanking chains of a traditional English ghost story and the wonderful humor of Oscar Wilde.
Lynn Musgrave directs the 9-member cast, led by Mark L. Mattison as both Oscar Wilde and The Ghost. Sets are designed by John A. Woskoff, costumes by Rebecca Karstad, lighting by Mark Kieffer, and props by Chad Van Kekerix. An audience discussion with members of the company will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, March 25.
Tickets are $22. For information, call the theatre's box office at 612-333-3010 or visit its website at www.TheatreintheRound.org.
