Robert Dubac's The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?, the one-man tour de force that tackles the babble of the sexes, will open Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre in Downtown Minneapolis' City Center, Thursday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011.

This multi-character comedy with writer Robert Dubac playing all six roles has been translated into dozens of languages and performed around the world. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m. For tickets or more information, visit www.hennepintheatretrust.org or call 1.800.982.2787.

The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron? stars Dubac as Bobby, a man in a confused state, just dumped by the girl of his dreams. Unable to understand why, he channels some not-so-wise, but hilarious advice from five chauvinistic mentors, each offering their own brand of misguided direction. The Seattle Times called it "a likeable mix of vulnerability, confidence and laughs."

Dubac draws on decades of showbiz experience as a writer, actor and stand-up comic to explore political ideas, social mores and the complexity of the human experience. Early in his career as a standup comic, the multi-talented performer opened for artists including Kenny Loggins, Linda Ronstadt and Jimmy Buffett. He has also appeared in TV shows and movies including "Growing Pains" and "The Rookie." The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron? originally opened at the Chicken Lips Comedy Theatre in Denver in 1995 and played at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres and Ordway Center.
