Audiences coming to see "Alice in Wonderland" at Stages Theatre Company this month will be more than observing a great play-they will become part of the play.

Based on Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" this world premiere production is playing in the Hopkins Jaycees Studio located at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, which seats 140. "We want the audience to feel involved, to be a part of the environment and to actually feel as if they help to make the set come to life," says Set Designer Erica Zaffarano.

This unique set was created three weeks ago and was moved into the studio last Monday where the cast started working in the new space immediately. Director Leah Adcock-Starr is pleased with how well the actors have adapted to the new set. "The audience is all around the actors and that is a challenge and adventure for them. They are learning a new way of performing and interacting with an audience that sees them from all sides. Actors will be sitting next to, walking next to and speaking directly to the audience throughout the show."

"Alice in Wonderland" opens Friday, Oct. 23 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 8. To purchase tickets, please visit http://www.stagestheatre.org/ for performance dates and times, or call the box office at (952) 979-1111, Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for children (ages 5-17) and seniors (60+).
