Penumbra's Summer Institute is a three-year leadership development program training young artists to critically engage the world around them and to respectfully take action to realize the luminosity of their dreams.
Students explore who they are and discover their own power to make change. Performances feature original work written and performed by students who employ the power of their art to address issues that concern them. Each performance includes a post-show discussion facilitated by the artists.
Summer Institute features the next generation of activist artists and culminates in the stirring and moving showcases: AWAKE tonight, August 1, 2015, AUTHENTIC on August 8, 2015 and ALOUD, August 14 through 16, 2015.
