Want to learn more about the importance of quilting in African American culture? Are you an experienced quilter looking to work on a fun community project or new to quilting and want to learn more? Then the Penumbra Quilting Circle is for you! This seven-week collaboration meets on the weekends from October 3 - November 16, 2009 and is led by expert quilt artists in partnership with Textile Center of Minnesota, a national center for fiber arts. The circle provides the perfect place where people of all backgrounds can come together and share in the cross cultural tradition of quilt-making.
Learn new skills, meet new friends and work with us to create the community quilt featured onstage in Penumbra's holiday favorite Black Nativity: A Season for Change!
Registration fee of $45 covers all quilting materials and tickets for you and a friend
to see Black Nativity: A Season for Change. For schedule and registration information, visit the website or call the box office at 651-224-3180. Space is limited, so call today! (Deadline for registration: September 28, 2009)
The 3rd Annual Penumbra Quilting Circle is presented by Target with additional support from Minnesota Quilters, Inc.
