They came. They saw. They liked. They pledged.

Sonny Curtis and Jerry Allison, members of the original Crickets band that played with Buddy Holly, were in St. Paul for the opening night of Buddy- The Buddy Holly Story at History Theatre. On Friday prior to the opening, Curtis and Allison were guests during a special session of McNally Smith College of Music's artists and industry class on the History Theatre stage, speaking to a gathering of students and staff from the college. On Saturday evening, they were special guests at a pre-show party, and after the show they met with the cast and crew of Buddy.

Impressed with the show and the partnership with McNally Smith College of Music, they have decided to join forces with the F.R. Bigelow Foundation to match donations to History Theatre.  This means that every new dollar donated to History Theatre through the run of Buddy - The Story of Buddy Holly, will be matched twice.

Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story continues through Sunday, November 1, 2009.  Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays @ 7:30 p.m. (& 2:00 p.m. on 10/24), and Sundays @ 2:00 p.m.

Tickets range from $28-$32.00 for adults, $25-$30.00 for seniors, $15 for students, and $10 for children. Group rates are also available. To purchase tickets, call the History Theatre Box Office at 651.292.4323 or go to www.historytheatre.com.
