After a successful experiment, Twin Cities Twitter users are once again invited to show off their thumb-tapping skills at Illusion Theater, this time on July 21 for a "performance-plus" experience at the opening night of Dating Your Mom. Adapted from the bizarrely funny writings of Ian Frazier, this Fresh Ink workshop production highlights the one relationship every guy already has that's too valuable to ignore - the one with his mother.
Illusion Theater Producing Director Michael Robins said, "When we hosted our first-ever live-tweet event in January for a modern staging of Molière's Le Misanthrope, we undertook to expand and test our social media repertoire. We received fascinating feedback, super self-conscious 140-character instant reviews and many other great personal reactions to what happened on the stage. We even became a trending topic in Minneapolis. We're excited to see what happens this time around."
The performance takes place at Illusion Theater, 528 Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis. Tickets for non-tweeters are $15 each and are available at the Illusion Theater Box Office at 612-339-4944 or online at www.illusiontheater.org.
